Christine Smith
Principal
Christine obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Graduate Diploma of Education in Dance and PDHPE from Western Sydney Uni in 1995 and has taught Dance and PDHPE in both primary & secondary schools for over 30 years, including HSC Dance.
She has been a Practicum Supervisor for Western Sydney and ACPE Universities; a lecturer for the Master of Education Dance students at Western Sydney Uni, and a HSC Dance marker in both practical and written examinations for the Board of Studies.
Christine has many choreographic credits including shows for Blue Mountains Musical Society, Blue Mountains Opera Company, Riverside Theatre, Blaxland High School & Holy Family PS.
She has performed in a number of musical theatre productions including the semi-professional musical Chess with Normi Row at The Hills Centre, and West Side Story, Hello Dolly, Brigadoon, and Paint your Wagon with Blue Mountains Musical Society. In addition she has performed for the Bathurst 1000, and at WAPPA in her selected choreography.
Her hobbies as an adult have seen her obtain a brown belt in GKR Karate, become the NSW Artistic Figure Skating Masters Champion, & Masters champion & record holder in Athletics which she continues to enjoy.
In 2011, she completed her Masters in Education (Leadership), and in 2015 completed her Masters in Special Education at the Western Sydney Uni. She also has qualifications in Entrepreneurship and business.
Lara Lockley
Lara has been dancing since the age of 3 across a wide variety of styles including physical culture, jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, salsa, Irish and musical theatre. She has been involved in various musicals through Blaxland High School such as '42nd Street', 'Fame'; 'Back to the 80s'.
Lara has also choreographed a number of shows for Blue Mountains Musical Society including Pirates of Penzance and Grease. She also performed with them as a Featured Dancer in 'Sweeney Todd'.
Lara has been a qualified Zumba instructor for 9 years and enjoys seeing all ages and fitness levels in her classes.
Lara has a degree in Social Science from UWS, and a Masters of Education from the University of Sydney. She currently teaches at Glenbrook Public school.
Genna Rogers
Genna started dancing at Fusion at the age of 4 and has since trained across a wide range of styles, including jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, ballet and contemporary.
She has had the opportunity to perform at numerous events including the Penrith Panthers Dance Extravaganza, Carols under the Stars with Blue Mountain City Church, Carols on the Course with Leonay Golf Club, The Royce for the resident’s Christmas celebrations, Relay for Life, Penrith Westfields, & numerous other charity events, festivals, and 31 Fusion concerts.
Genna became a member of Fusion Troupe in 2019 and a student teacher in 2024, teaching gymnastics, cheerleading and acro.
Alongside this, she is currently studying a Bachelor of Business at the University of Wollongong, majoring in Sports Marketing and Management.
